Full Time Remote Tutor information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Remote Tutor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Remote Tutor, you need strong subject matter expertise, a relevant academic background, and experience in educational instruction. Familiarity with online learning platforms (like Zoom, Google Classroom, or Microsoft Teams) and digital collaboration tools is important, as are any teaching certifications. Outstanding communication, patience, and adaptability are vital soft skills for engaging students and addressing individual learning needs remotely. These skills ensure effective teaching, foster student success, and help build trust and motivation in a virtual learning environment.

What is a Full Time Remote Tutor?

A Full Time Remote Tutor is an educator who provides academic instruction and support to students entirely online, rather than in person. They typically work from home or another remote location, using digital platforms to conduct lessons, answer questions, and assign coursework. Full time remote tutors may work independently, for online tutoring companies, or for educational institutions, and often specialize in specific subjects or grade levels. Their schedules can be flexible, but they usually maintain regular working hours and may work with students from different time zones. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with online teaching tools, and the ability to adapt lessons to individual student needs.

How do Full Time Remote Tutors typically structure their workday to manage multiple students and subjects effectively?

Full Time Remote Tutors often use a highly organized schedule to balance sessions with different students across various subjects. They commonly rely on digital calendars and learning management platforms to keep track of lesson times, student progress, and curriculum requirements. Regular communication with students and, when appropriate, parents or guardians is essential for aligning on goals and monitoring improvement. Tutors also set aside time for lesson planning, grading, and professional development. Flexibility and strong time-management skills are vital, as remote tutoring may involve coordinating across different time zones.

About Primavera Online School
Primavera Online School is an accredited, tuition-free public charter school serving students across Arizona for more than 25 years. We specialize in flexible, student-centered online education designed to meet learners where they are-academically, emotionally, and socially.
We believe every student deserves access to an education that adapts to their life, not the other way around. At Primavera, we support diverse learners, empower families, and partner closely with educators to create personalized learning experiences that drive real outcomes. Our work is grounded in care, accountability, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed-both in school and beyond.
As a fully remote organization, we value clear communication, collaboration, and ownership. You'll find a mission-driven team that takes its responsibility to students seriously while supporting one another as professionals and humans.
The Team You Will Join
You'll be part of the Academic Operations team, working closely with school leadership, adjunct teachers, the Student Intervention Team, tutoring staff, and other instructional partners. This team is responsible for supporting instructional excellence, ensuring student success, and providing operational support that helps both educators and students thrive in a virtual learning environment.
The team culture is collaborative, supportive, and mission-driven, and you'll have opportunities to strengthen instructional practices, support student achievement, improve school operations, and partner across Primavera Online School.
The Difference You Will Make
In this role, your work will directly impact students, families, teachers, and school operations by supporting adjunct teachers, improving student engagement, and helping ensure students receive the interventions and support they need to succeed.
You'll help strengthen instructional programs, improve communication between stakeholders, support student achievement initiatives, and contribute to a positive learning experience that advances Primavera's mission every day.
A Typical Day Looks Like
While no two days are exactly the same, you can expect to:
  • Gather, analyze, and monitor student performance data to identify trends, support intervention efforts, and communicate progress with school stakeholders.
  • Coordinate student support initiatives by organizing tutoring groups, participating in MTSS processes, and collaborating with the Student Intervention Team to address student needs.
  • Support adjunct teachers through coaching, supervision, evaluations, professional development opportunities, and day-to-day operational guidance.
  • Partner with students, families, teachers, and administrators to resolve concerns related to student performance, attendance, engagement, and behavior while fostering positive relationships.
  • Utilize student information systems, Microsoft Office, virtual communication platforms, and school data tools to manage reporting, scheduling, communication, and operational workflows.
  • This position requires availability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time, Monday through Friday.

This role balances collaboration, problem-solving, organization, and execution and is well-suited for someone who enjoys supporting educators, strengthening student outcomes, managing complex details, and working with purpose.
Your Expertise Includes
We're looking for someone who brings:
  • Arizona Principal Certification
  • Bachelor's degree and a valid Arizona 6-12 Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience teaching at the secondary level, with a minimum of five years of exemplary classroom teaching preferred.
  • Experience working in a virtual learning environment with knowledge of online student engagement, behavior management, and MTSS best practices.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, leadership, organizational, and data analysis skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual collaboration tools, and educational technology platforms.

Bonus points if you also have:
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or evaluating instructional staff.
  • Knowledge of Arizona online education regulations, instructional best practices, and student support systems.

Our Commitment to Inclusion & Belonging
At Primavera Online School, we serve a richly diverse student population-and we believe our team should reflect that same diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace where all team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their best work. Diverse ideas strengthen our school, improve outcomes for students, and help us better serve the families and communities who rely on us.
All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels a true sense of belonging and purpose.
How We'll Take Care of You
We believe that supporting our team members is essential to supporting our students. At Primavera, care, balance, and well-being are part of how we operate-not extras.
Our commitment to you includes:
  • A competitive total compensation package, including medical, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits
  • Well-being support that fits real life-from virtual wellness programs and wellness coaching to flexible work options for select roles
  • Generous PTO options, including unlimited PTO for exempt roles and "life happens" days when flexibility is needed
  • A fully paid holiday week off at Christmas to rest, reset, and recharge
  • Recognition and rewards that celebrate birthdays, meaningful milestones, and the important work you do for students and families
  • Quarterly Town Halls to keep communication transparent, aligned, and human
  • Annual events and traditions that help us stay connected as a remote school community

We're intentional about creating a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and proud of the impact they make-every day.
