The Chief Investment Office (CIO) is a major strategic partner to many other departments across the enterprise and relies upon a collaborative culture to effectively create both micro and macro solutions to the most interesting challenges at Prudential. With over $400 billion in assets under management, the CIO is responsible for asset/liability (ALM) management, interest rate risk management, oversight and reporting on product investment margin performance and related hedge management activities. The CIO controls the management of the investment portfolios of Prudential's General Accounts through its Alternative Assets Group and Global Hedge Management team operating within Prudential Select Strategies LLC, an SEC registered investment adviser, and its U.S. and International Portfolio groups.

Internship Summary:

Prudential is seeking motivated and goal-orientated interns to join our team. Our summer internship program spans approximately 10 weeks, offering you a valuable opportunity to work on impactful projects where you can demonstrate your skills and talents.

You'll be part of a dynamic environment that encourages learning, growth, and networking. Program Dates: Monday, June 7th, 2027 - August 13th, 2027

What you can expect:

You will be empowered to contribute in a meaningful way, add new value to organization initiatives and effect change. Your placement within the Chief Investment Office will be in one of the following areas:

  • Alternative Assets Team within Prudential Select Strategies (PSS) | Prudential Select Strategies LLC is a registered investment adviser that originates, underwrites, and manages a diversified portfolio of fund investments to maximize risk-adjusted return on required capital. The Alternative Assets Team within Prudential Select Strategies is organized into the following asset classes and teams: Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Real Assets, Manager of Managers, Operational Due Diligence, and Risk Management. This group originates, underwrites, and manages a diversified portfolio of fund investments to maximize risk-adjusted return on required capital.
  • Global Hedge Management (GHM) | GHM provides comprehensive hedging solutions and efficient trade execution. The team utilizes its capital markets acumen and liability knowledge to implement and manage multiple hedge programs for the CIO and also facilitates cross currency investment activity on behalf of the general account. Some of GHM's responsibilities include e Execution, Hedge Strategy Development, Marketing & Production Development, and Managerial Analytics.
  • U.S. Portfolio Management (USPM) | The U.S. Portfolio Management (USPM) group is the portfolio manager responsible for managing Prudential's U.S. investment portfolios. USPM develops asset-liability management-oriented portfolio strategies that include target levels of interest rate exposure and asset allocation among various public and private fixed income sectors and alternative assets. USPM implements these portfolio strategies by selecting, directing, and overseeing asset managers with scale and demonstrated expertise in the management of specific asset classes.
  • International Portfolio Management (IPM) | IPM is the portfolio manager responsible for managing Prudential's proprietary international investment portfolios. IPM develops asset-liability management-oriented portfolio strategies that include target levels of interest rate exposure and asset allocation among various public and private fixed income sectors and alternative assets. IPM implements these portfolio strategies by selecting, directing, and overseeing asset managers with scale and demonstrated expertise in the management of specific asset classes.

What you'll need:

  • Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's program graduating between December 2027 and May 2028
  • Preferred majors include mathematics, engineering, economics, computer science, finance, actuarial sciences, or a similar quantitative subject area.
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA recommended
  • Prudential does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Successful candidates must possess the requisite US employment authorization to be eligible for consideration

  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Proficiency in Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, and/or the use of Coding Agents
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

Note: The pay range for this role is $32.00 to $35.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
