The Role

As a 3D Game Artist at Nex, you will be at the heart of bringing our visually engaging, active-play content to life. You are a versatile creator who understands the entire 3D pipeline—from modeling and rigging to in-engine implementation. In this role, you will use your hands-on experience with Unity to create optimized, dynamic environments and characters that react beautifully to player movement. You'll collaborate closely with designers, developers, and animators to ensure seamless integration of assets, making sure our games not only look fantastic but run flawlessly on the Nex Playground system.

What You'll Do

  • Produce high-quality 3D game art, characters, environments, and supporting assets, ensuring they are perfectly integrated for in-game use and under the desired art direction.
  • Develop and implement particle systems, animations, and other dynamic visual elements directly within Unity.
  • Create custom shaders and stunning visual effects using Unity Shader Graph to give our games their unique, vibrant look.
  • Rigorously optimize 3D game assets, textures, and visual elements to ensure smooth, high-framerate performance across our platforms.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the broader game development team (engineers, designers, and animators) to ensure a seamless pipeline from concept to final visual content.

Requirements (What We're Looking For)

  • Proven experience in 3D modeling and 3D rigging, with a portfolio that showcases your ability to build game-ready assets.
  • Comfortable working inside the Unity engine, particularly with asset integration, particle systems, and Shader Graph.
  • Understand the technical constraints of game development and know how to balance visual fidelity with strict performance and optimization budgets.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working cross-functionally to solve creative and technical challenges.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Spine 2D for integrating 2D animations into a Unity environment.
  • Experience developing games for family-friendly audiences or motion-based platforms.
  • A passion for active play and a desire to create games that get people off the couch and moving.

We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Flexible working hours and vacation policy.
  • Product-driven culture that treasures talents and individual growth.
  • Front-row seat and hands-on experience with cutting edge technologies in the evolving gaming field
