Job Description
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Position Title: Shipper/Receiver I (Shipping department) Days, 6:00am - 2:30pm
The Shipper/Receiver I (shipping department) is responsible for picking orders, putting away product to assigned locations, packing orders and inspecting product for damage. Primarily consists of forklift related duties for the warehouse.
Responsibilities
  • Obtains copy of shipping orders and transports material to and from designated areas in the facility. Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Checks identification of materials to be moved and moves to required location. Reports inconsistencies or problems to supervisor.
  • Picks orders utilizing our warehouse management system. Validating the parts and quantity's are correct.
  • Pack pulled orders to prepare them for shipments. Stacking and strapping then utilizing automatic banding equipment. Pack bulk product to make available as single for sale to customers.
  • Keeps tally or count of product moved and reports to supervisor.
  • Uses safety cut tools to open boxes, containers, removes strapping and wrapping and disposes of safely in designated containers or areas.
  • Places protective materials around loads when necessary and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for in-plant handling, interim storage, or final shipment to customers.
  • Inspect product for damage, replace damaged packaging, and scrap out damaged product.
  • Perform daily safety inspection of equipment.
  • Assists, as available, for other departments, including line support and material handling.
  • May work in other departments based on business needs.

Qualifications:
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 29lbs unassisted with or without accommodation.

Requirements:
  • Employees must be able to read numbers, perform basic mathematical calculations and comprehend basic safety instructions.
  • Must be able to work overtime as business needs require.
