Company Overview:
Looking to address the problem of a slow and cumbersome healthcare system, Pager has an omni-channel platform that brings it all together for the patient. It's predominantly mobile but they're also on the web, video, chat and voice in providing 24/7 access to a live nurse. On the back end they have an enterprise platform which integrates with the different areas of health care i.e. pharmacy, radiology, primary care, urgent care, etc.
Job Title: Full Stack Node Engineer
Team:
In addition to two leads, front end and back end, there are two front end engineers and four back end engineers.
Project:
This team within Pager is in charge of onboarding new clients onto the Pager platform and supporting existing clients with additional enhancements and features. They're looking for a consultant to help build the integrations with new clients and accelerate the integration process as they move towards more automation. Will push and deploy to a separate Platform Engineering team.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Writing clean, scalable & efficient code.
  • Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.
  • Designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Creating middleware for the new integrations.
  • Optimizing performance of applications for full-scale production deployments.
  • Providing code documentation and other inputs to technical documents.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
  • Interacting with clients' engineering teams.

Required Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Node.js developer
  • At least 1 to 2 years of experience with the Hapi framework
  • Front end development experience with React, Hooks and micro frontends
  • Understanding of asynchronous development and data security principles
  • In-depth understanding of data structures and other computer science fundamentals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies
  • Must have strong communication skills to effectively communicate with clients

Preferred Experience:
  • Some experience with Typescript, Vue and Redux
  • Experience with Docker and Cloud infrastructure

Education Required:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
