Scope of Services

The engineer will provide onsite Smart Hands and Network Deployment support for Cisco

Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) installation activities.


Contract Details


  • Position: Freelance Network Deployment Engineer
  • Location: Pikeville, Kentucky, United States
  • Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
  • Support Model: Ticket-Based / On-Demand (Not Full Time)
  • Competitive Hourly Rate

Key Responsibilities


  • Stage and prepare equipment prior to deployment
  • Rack, install, and cable Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs)
  • Perform power, fiber, and Ethernet cross-connects
  • Verify switch port availability and physical connectivity
  • Install SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet cables
  • Support remote engineers during implementation and cutover
  • Validate installation and troubleshoot basic connectivity issues
  • Remove and package legacy network equipment (when required)
  • Provide site updates and completion photos


Required Skill


  • Experience with Rack & Stack activities
  • Cisco WLC installation and deployment
  • Fiber optic and Ethernet cabling
  • Smart Hands / Remote Hands support
  • Basic network troubleshooting
  • Experience working in enterprise data center or network environments
