Job description

About Predii

Predii is an automotive-specific AI company built on 13+ years of domain expertise and exposure to billions of real repair events, service records, and parts transactions. We build production-grade AI systems that help the automotive industry — from OEMs and shop software providers to aftermarket shops, distributors, and tire companies — move faster, make smarter decisions, and drive measurable margin impact. Unlike general-purpose AI, Predii speaks the language of the automotive industry: VINs, DTCs, labor op codes, repair orders, parts identification and ordering, pricing, and inventory workflows.

Predii is seeking an experienced automotive aftermarket professional to serve as the key presence for a flagship engagement with a leading aftermarket distributor in the tire and warehouse distribution space. This requirements-gathering and business analysis engagement will define the scope and specification for a custom AI solution that Predii will build and deploy. You will be the eyes, ears, and voice of the Predii team with the customer — translating business processes and operational realities into structured requirements our technical team can act on. The role reports to Predii's Product Management lead.

What You'll Do
  • Lead in-depth discovery interviews and working sessions with customer stakeholders across operations, inventory management, category management, pricing, and IT.
  • Document current-state business processes — how decisions are made today, what data is used, where inefficiencies exist, and where AI can drive the greatest impact.
  • Identify and catalog the customer's data assets — sources, formats, ownership, quality, and accessibility — and translate them into a data inventory that supports AI model design.
  • Translate business needs into structured, actionable requirements documentation that Predii's engineering and data science teams use as the foundation for solution design.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirements review sessions, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical feasibility.
  • Maintain a running log of key decisions, open questions, assumptions, and risks throughout the engagement.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and findings to Predii project leadership on a weekly (minimum) cadence.
  • Represent Predii professionally and credibly with customer stakeholders at every level, including senior leadership.
Engagement Details
  • Engagement type: Contract / freelance — independent contractor.
  • Duration: 3–4 months, with potential for extension or conversion to a full-time role based on project scope and success.
  • Location: Remote, with on-site time at the customer’s facilities; travel may be required, including potential multi-week stays.
  • Start date: Target start within 10 days of engagement confirmation.
  • Reports to: Predii Senior Product / Project Manager (Engagement Lead); no direct reports.
  • Compensation: Competitive fixed monthly rate commensurate with experience; travel expenses covered per Predii contractor policy.
Basic Qualifications & Key Competencies

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, customer-facing professional who is equally at home leading a conference-room session with operations leaders and digging into data workflows on the warehouse floor.

  • 3–5 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket, with direct exposure to inventory management, category management, parts distribution, or warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated experience as a business analyst, requirements analyst, or process consultant — with a portfolio of documented requirements, process maps, or functional specifications.
  • Strong customer-facing skills — building rapport, running structured interviews, facilitating group sessions, and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — the ability to distill complex operational information into clear, concise documentation.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams — operations, IT, finance, and senior leadership — within a distribution- or logistics-intensive business.
  • Familiarity with common aftermarket platforms and ERP, WMS, or DMS environments.
What Sets You Apart
  • Direct experience with tire distribution, parts warehousing, or wholesale aftermarket operations — you understand how product moves, how pricing works, and how inventory decisions are made.
  • Fluency in the language of the aftermarket: inventory turns, SKU rationalization, margin matrices, fill rates, and distribution workflows.
  • Exposure to AI, data analytics, or technology implementation projects — you know what it means to define requirements for a data-driven or AI-powered solution.
  • Thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments — able to adapt the discovery approach as new information surfaces without losing structure or deliverable quality.
  • Comfortable operating independently on-site, managing your own schedule, and proactively escalating blockers — no daily supervision required.
  • Prior consulting, contract, or project-based experience — comfortable with self-directed delivery within a managed framework.
