Job description

Description:

Digital Marketing Developer – Marketo/HubSpot (Freelance)

We’re looking for a skilled Digital Marketing Developer to support the execution and optimization of digital campaigns (email & landing page templates) across a variety of client initiatives. You’ll be responsible for building and testing HTML, Marketo or HubSpot emails and landing pages based on provided designs, while also supporting segmentation, campaign workflows, performance tracking, and ongoing campaign improvements.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience working within Marketo and HubSpot and are comfortable owning the execution side of campaigns end-to-end—from build through QA. Your work should demonstrate strong attention to detail, an understanding of email best practices, and a proactive approach to improving performance. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy bringing campaigns to life, this role is for you.

This role will focus on building and QA within Marketo Design Studio or HubSpot Content Hub, after which assets (emails and/or landing pages) will be handed off to the client team(s) for deployment. This role will not be responsible for final deployment within the respective platform.

There is occasionally light back-and-forth during the transition from testing to deployment, primarily for troubleshooting or clarifying technical details. While this role is not client-facing, it requires strong communication skills to help bridge gaps between internal execution and external deployment teams.

  • Familiarity with audience segmentation, lists, and database management in Marketo
  • Experience with tokens, snippets, dynamic content, and personalization
  • Strong understanding of email client rendering quirks (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.)
  • Experience with QA testing, troubleshooting, and campaign handoff processes
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues in simple, non-technical language
  • Comfort making basic optimization recommendations based on results
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
