AspectFreelance Remote VeterinaryFreelance Remote Veterinary Technician

How do freelance remote veterinarians typically manage communication and collaboration with pet owners and veterinary teams?

Freelance remote veterinarians often use telemedicine platforms, video calls, and secure messaging systems to communicate with pet owners and collaborate with in-person veterinary teams. Clear, timely communication is essential, as remote vets must gather accurate information from clients and sometimes coordinate care with local clinics or emergency services. Building trust and setting expectations about response times and the scope of virtual consultations are important aspects of the job. Many remote veterinarians also participate in virtual team meetings or case discussions to ensure continuity of care and professional support.

What are freelance remote veterinarians?

Freelance remote veterinarians are licensed veterinary professionals who provide veterinary services, consultations, or advice virtually, rather than working from a fixed clinic or hospital. They may offer telemedicine appointments, answer pet health questions online, or provide second opinions for pet owners and other veterinarians. This flexible work arrangement allows them to serve clients from different locations while managing their own schedules. The rise of telehealth platforms has made remote veterinary work increasingly popular and accessible.

Can you be a freelance veterinarian?

Yes, freelance veterinarians can work independently by providing veterinary services on a contract basis, often through telemedicine platforms or by offering mobile clinics. They typically need a valid veterinary license, relevant clinical skills, and may require specialized equipment or certifications depending on the services offered.

Do you love dogs?

Like... really love dogs?

Do you find yourself stopping mid-conversation to say hi to every dog that walks by?

Do you enjoy spending time with animals more than most people?

If so, keep reading.

Your Pet Staycations is a growing premium pet care company based in Boulder County, and we're looking for dependable animal lovers to join our team of Overnight In-Home Pet Sitters.

As our business continues to grow (including the exciting addition of our new Main Street Superior storefront!), we're building a Core Team of dedicated sitters who genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and providing exceptional care while their humans are away.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

This is true overnight pet sitting.

That means:

• Staying overnight in clients' homes

• Sleeping in the home with the pets

• Going on walks

• Giving belly rubs

• Playing fetch

• Providing companionship

• Sending adorable photo updates

• Following care instructions and routines

• Making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their families travel

Many of our clients become long-term repeat clients and often request the same sitter again and again.

If you love building relationships with both pets and their people, you'll probably love this role.

The Most Important Requirement

Our clients choose us because we provide a higher level of care than traditional boarding facilities or drop-in services.

Because of that, sitters must have enough flexibility in their schedule to return for pet check-ins approximately every ~4 hours throughout the day.

This role works especially well for:

• Remote workers

• Freelancers

• Graduate students with flexible schedules

• Retirees

• Creatives

• Individuals with highly flexible daytime schedules

This role is generally not compatible with traditional out-of-home 9–5 schedules.

Core Team & Flex Team Opportunities

Core Team

We're currently looking to build a small team of dependable sitters who:

• Want consistent opportunities

• Enjoy building relationships with repeat clients

• Are available for weekends and holidays when needed

• Want to grow alongside a local business

Flex Team

Perfect for sitters who:

• Have more limited availability

• Want occasional opportunities

• Prefer a lower commitment level

• Enjoy earning extra income while spending time with animals

Service Areas

We are actively looking for sitters in:

Superior/Louisville

• Lafayette

• Erie

• Golden

• Arvada

We also serve clients throughout Boulder County and occasionally nearby communities.

Sitters who are willing to occasionally help outside their primary area may receive travel bonuses.

Why People Love Working With Us

• Competitive overnight pay

• Paid meet & greets

• Paid training

• Travel bonuses

• Flexible scheduling

• Lots of dog time

• Supportive team environment

• The opportunity to become a trusted part of pets' lives

A Few Things You'll Need

• A genuine love for animals

• Reliable transportation

• Strong communication skills

• Good judgment and reliability

• Comfort staying overnight in clients' homes

• A smartphone for photos, updates, and scheduling

• Previous pet care experience is a plus

Interested?

Send us:

• A little bit about yourself

• Your location

• Your general availability

• Any pet sitting, animal care, veterinary, shelter, rescue, or dog walking experience - include this in your resume/CV attachment

• Why you think you'd be a great fit

We'd love to hear from you.

Consistent Care. Thoughtful Presence. Every Single Time.
