From Pre-K to PhD and Everything in Between!

We tutor for all ages and in any subject, including ACT/SAT test prep, Pre-K, study skills, and college readiness bootcamps.

Calling all teachers, tutors, adjuncts, and graduate students!

Tutor with us and earn $20-$24/hour as a professional independent tutor! Meet with students in their homes, online, or in agreed-upon third party locations (such as libraries or coffee shops). Enjoy a flexible schedule and a flexible working environment. Tutor in your preferred subjects, with your own preferred teaching methodologies, and using the student’s individual classroom curriculum. No corporate curriculum to memorize!

Our tutors work directly with local students in one-on-one, in-person sessions. (Limited online tutoring options may be available, depending on client needs.) You set your availability, use your preferred teaching style, and manage how you do your work. We will handle the client-facing groundwork and then reach out with tutoring opportunities that match your preferences. You decide which ones you want to accept, and travel within your preferred local radius.

We Tutor in All Subjects, Including:

Pre-K, Elementary Math, Elementary Reading/Writing, Middle School English, Middle School STEM, High School English, High School Social Studies, High School STEM, Computer Coding, the Arts, Spanish, French, Latin, Mandarin, Hindi, Test Prep (ACT/SAT), college readiness, and graduate school mocks (such as mock dissertation defense, mock thesis, mock prospectus, etc.).

Additional Details:

  • This is a project-based, client-facing, flexible opportunity. Engagements are arranged based on your availability, client availability, interest, and subject matter.
  • Part-time, in-person tutoring in students' homes
  • Limited online tutoring opportunities may be available
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate of $20.00-24.00, based on tutor’s experience and subject area
  • There are no minimum hours and no maximum hours.
  • Tutors must be at least 18 years old.
  • Successful applicants must pass a background check.
  • Tutoring opportunities may occur in various locations across Wake County, North Carolina and Durham County, North Carolina.
  • Applicants must be local to Durham County or Wake County to be considered for in-home tutoring
  • Reliable transportation is required for in-home or in-person tutors.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, private workspace are required for online tutors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or its international equivalent) from an accredited and reputable institution*
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus.
  • *In most cases, we require a four-year bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent. However, we are willing to hire people with two-year degrees in some niche subjects (such as certain modern languages, certain computer coding languages, and certain two-year medical disciplines such as sonography, respiratory therapy, and dental assisting).

Benefits:

  • $20.00 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience and subject matter
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position. As such there are no pay package benefits in the traditional sense. However, we do offer our tutors several optional perks:
