We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Consultant to support our periodic bridge inspection projects. This is an excellent opportunity for independent consultants and freelancers looking for flexible, project-based work with a growing marine construction and engineering firm.

  • Lead and perform NBIS bridge inspections in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Oversee and direct bridge inspection crews in the field.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of inspection reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Develop, review, and finalize detailed bridge inspection reports.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior engineers and inspection staff.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers on project planning, scheduling, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the Lead Bridge Inspector on routine, fracture-critical, and specialized bridge inspections, as applicable.
Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.

•Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred;

•7-10 years of bridge inspection and structural engineering experience.

•Minimum 3 years serving as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (or equivalent) in accordance with NBIS requirements.

•FHWA/NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges

•FHWA/NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques

•FHWA/NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection

•OSHA 30-Hour Construction
