Job description

For one of our clients in the energy industry we are looking for a freelance Regulatory Analyst (REMIT II)
Project name: REMIT II implementation pre-study
Project description: the client, as a market participant in European commodity, gas and LNG trading, is subject to REMIT regulation and must prepare for upcoming REMIT II requirements. The current pre-study (May-June 2026) will assess the impact of EU implementation regulations and ACER guidance on our existing transactional reporting framework. This will be followed by implementation activities. The consultant (preferably a senior) advises the Regulatory Team on analyzing the impact of REMIT II, particularly regarding transactional reporting, and translates regulatory requirements into structured business and reporting requirements. Required
Tasks:
  • Technical analysis and interpretation of REMIT II requirements (EU regulation and ACER guidelines) regarding their impact on client's current transactional reporting infrastructure
  • Creation of an impact assessment documentation on REMIT Transactional Reporting, specifically focusing on data fields, reporting logic, and interface compatibility within the existing trading and reporting processes
  • Identification of regulatory and technical overlaps with MAR, MiFID II and EMIR frameworks
  • Professional evaluation of regulatory developments and structured synopsis of relevant industry updates as a decision basis for the project team
  • Documentation of findings in a structured Bill of Requirements (BoR / BRD)
  • Provision of decision guidance to facilitate the alignment process between Legal, Trading, and IT stakeholders
  • Documentation of the pre-study results and handing over to clientfor final sign-off and further use

Required Skills:
  • Strong understanding of REMIT regulation (must-have)
  • Solid experience in transactional reporting (REMIT and/or EMIR strongly preferred)
  • Experience in regulatory reporting within energy or commodity trading environments
  • Good understanding of MAR, MiFID II, and EMIR (advantage)
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills Proven experience writing structured requirements (BoR/BRD)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across Legal, Trading, and IT.

Start: ASAP
Capacity: full-time, 40h/week
Duration: till 30.06.2026, after the pre-study, the consultant may also be able to continue in the next phase until mid-2027, provided all conditions are met.
