Job description

Location: Mt. Sterling, IL or Remote

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Director of Warehouse Automation

Salary Grade: $100,522-$150.782 annually, plus bonus opportunity

Provides engineering support across the business with primary focus on automation engineering. This individual will have a direct impact on future investments made in automation and the success of those projects.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Coordinates any Automation engineering related activity at all locations, in conjunction with operational leadership and applicable safety requirements.
  • Supports capital assessment and implementation with both internal and external partners.
  • Interacts with vendors to accomplish product selection, and engineering review and solution procurement.
  • Collaborates with facilitates project management to ensure quality delivery.
  • Applies lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste in all areas of the position.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and professional engineering certification. Degree can be in any of the disciplines – architecture, mechanical, civil, structural, or electrical.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

  • Robotics and automated material handling systems Conveyor, AS/RS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems), or other warehouse automation technologies.
  • Controls experience
  • Experience with AB and Seimens
  • Integration of automation with IT/OT systems (networking, MES, data simulation tools such as Flexsim (e.g. for layouts or process modeling)
  • Data analysis tools (basic SQL, Python, or advanced Excel for system performance)

ROLE SPECIFICS

  • Travel – Up to 60% overnight travel for company meetings, trainings, and project responsibilities. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
