Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications
    • Develop and facilitate an adventure/challenge course activities with an emphasis on safety and community in a trusting environment that meets the therapeutic needs of the patients.
    • Provides oversight, training, and management of the adventure program/ropes course facilities and program.
    • Instruct and facilitate adventure / challenge course / high element activities and initiative games.
    • Evaluate the success of the adventure programs and adjust accordingly.
    • Facilitate group development and education outcomes.
    • Set up and facilitate all ropes course elements including spotting and belaying.
    • Perform High Element Rescue procedures if necessary.
    • Responsible for inventory, purchase and storage of all adventure equipment; inspection and maintenance of low and high elements; timely retirement, disposal and replacement of equipment to meet industry standards for safety; and provide related budget requests.
    • Implements curriculum and safety protocol, facilitation of staff assignments, record keeping and reports.
    • Document patient progress in meeting treatment goals.
    • Complete safety checks of all recreation areas completing engineering maintenance requests as needed.
    • Plan and facilitate holiday and seasonal activities.
    • Participate in daily huddle and safety planning for patient participation.
    • Coordinate with nursing for medical clearance to participate in activities.

     

What qualifications you will need:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
  • Licensure / Certification: CPI required within 30 days of employment, BLS required within 90 days of employment, First Aid required within 90 days of employment. Valid driver’s license required
  • Certification: Required Level 2 ACCT Ropes Course Practitioner / Facilitator with Rescue Training, Preferred CCM.
  • Experience: Experience working with children in physical fitness or adventure education strongly preferred.
