WHO ARE YOU?

Field Assistants at PEG will provide support to a Field Engineer by assisting them to complete Home Energy Audits in accordance with RESNET Guidelines. This includes aiding in the collection of energy-related data on an active residential construction site and carrying equipment needed to perform Duct Testing, Blower Door Testing, and HVAC Grading/Balance Testing.

THE ROLE

Job Location:

The geographical area assigned to this position includes a 50-mile radius with Atlanta, GA at its center.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist Field Engineers as they perform Home Energy Audits in accordance with New Construction RESNET/Energy Star Guidelines including but not limited to:
    • Visual Inspections of applied materials and control assemblies
    • Data Collection and Visual Observation of energy efficient features such as
      • Model and serial numbers of relevant equipment
      • Quality and installation of duct work, insulation, framing, air sealing, ventilation, etc.
    • Utilization of equipment to test system performance such as infiltration & Blower Door Testing, Ventilation Testing, Duct Leakage Testing, and Building Air Flow & Pressure Testing
    • Adjustment of system settings to either meet design or manufacturer specifications


Education and/or Experience

  • Must be working toward a High School Diploma or General Education Degree OR working toward a Vocational Certificate or College Degree in a Skilled Trades Industry


Physical Demands:

  • Must be physically able to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying equipment, climbing ladders, work in confined spaces (attics/crawl spaces), and using small tools and testing equipment
  • Must enjoy working in the great outdoors


Additional Requirements:

  • Must be personable, enthusiastic, dependable, and well-groomed
  • Must be adaptable as audit/inspections will fluctuate will client construction schedules.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing with insurable driving record
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel daily to job sites
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check and/or drug testing, in accordance with local law/regulations
