Job description

Job Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee the manufacturing of beverages, ensuring quantity and
quality requirements are met.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff within the department.
  • Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with
  • company policy.
  • Maintains safety/environmental self-audits & visual checks, champions all safety or
  • ergonomic activities for the department and helps to develop and meet plant safety
  • goals.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure the ability to
  • direct employees to perform the job properly.
  • Enforce all plant food safety, GMP, personnel safety and company policies.
  • Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies.
  • Oversees production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets
  • are met.
  • Collaborates with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on
  • materials and production inventories.
  • Facilitates and authorizes any repairs or maintenance required for production tools
  • and equipment.
  • Identifies and recommends cost controls and other improvements to the production
  • process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience in Beverage production required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience in safety and quality preferred.
  • Minimum of High School Degree or GED required, College Degree preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive
  • motions. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Constant exposure to allergens such as milk, eggs, fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat and
  • soybeans
  • Constant operation of a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy
  • machine, etc.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 50% of the time.
  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).
  • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
