Job description

Warehouse Associate (Part-Time)

Main Event Caterers is seeking a temporary Warehouse Associate to work for a few months. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for supporting the overall warehouse operations and our clients in the capacity of an Event Packer, Laundry Associate or Dishwashing Associate. Specifically, the position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

For Laundry: Laundering fabrics including linens, napkins, bar towels etc. Sorts fabrics by color and wash temperature. Launders fabrics in commercial machines. Machine operation including cycle selection, ensuring chemical distribution. Dries fabrics in commercial machine ensuring proper cycle selection. Operates commercial steamer/presser and treats fabrics through the machine. Folds, hangs, bags and restocks all fabrics in the warehouse. Fabric maintenance including sewing and mending. Adheres to all safety and policies pertaining to position. Other duties as assigned.

For Event Packing: Pulls stock from warehouse storage pertaining to event orders; checks off when items have been sufficiently pulled. Evaluates stock for quality, ensuring damaged stock is not sent to events. Arranges stock in event groupings and labels accordingly. Verifies orders for quantity and quality accuracy. Packs orders to maximize space usage. Assists in loading orders onto trucks. Adheres to all safety and policies pertaining to position. Other duties as assigned.

For Dishwashing Associates: Sorts items as they return from events. Pre-rinses and scrapes remaining food particles from dishware. Groups items together before beginning machine operation. Utilizes machine to continuously feed dishware through the line for thorough washing. Monitors machine chemical levels and wash-water quality. Stops cycle and adjusts accordingly. Inspects and evaluates dish cleanliness at the end of the line. Inspects and evaluates dish quality at the end of the line, looking for damage. Sorts and regroups clean dishware, wraps and packs dishware for redistribution to warehouse storage. Restocks clean and wrapped dishware into warehouse storage. Cleans and sanitizes crescors. Adheres to all safety and policies pertaining to position. Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail; organized and thorough. Strong work ethic. Punctual.

These roles use commercial equipment including dishwashers, hoses, washers and dryers, steamer/presser, sewing machines, portable stairs, and push carts.

Supervisory Responsibility: None.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred. No prior experience or training necessary.

Licenses or Certification: NA

Physical Demands: The employee is required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend, squat and stoop. The position requires feel, grasp, handle objects with fingers. The position requires ability to use multiple body parts simultaneously. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Position requires ability to climb ladders and stairs. Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour.
