Job Summary Description:

The Director of Procurement will function as a hands-on transformation leader within a private equity–owned, decentralized operating environment. The Director of Procurement is accountable for establishing procurement discipline, driving consistent regional adoption of standardized processes, and building foundational spend visibility in partnership with Finance to directly support margin improvement and EBITDA performance. The Director of Procurement will develop and execute procurement strategies that support operational efficiency, safety, margin performance, and scalable growth. This role will drive standardization, supplier performance management, contract discipline, and procurement best practices across all PURIS operating companies and regions.

Essential Job Accountabilities:

  • Ensure consistent execution and compliance with defined procurement policies across all regions, reinforcing accountability and addressing gaps in adoption within Operations.
  • Partner with Finance to develop item standardization, spend classification, and reporting capabilities in an environment with limited historical spend data.
  • Drive procurement process adoption, data quality, and user compliance within Acumatica or a comparable ERP platform operating at an early stage of enterprise maturity.
  • Lead and execute enterprise-wide procurement strategy aligned with operational, financial, and safety objectives.
  • Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management for materials, equipment, tools, subcontracted services, and indirect spend.
  • Partner with Operations and Project teams to support project planning, material availability, and schedule requirements.
  • Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, pricing, service levels, and performance expectations.
  • Implement procurement standards, policies, and controls to ensure consistency, compliance, and cost discipline across regions.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives including strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and total cost of ownership analysis.
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend visibility to support margin and capital efficiency.
  • Partner with Safety and Quality teams to ensure suppliers meet PURIS safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage technology, data, and process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency, transparency, and scalability.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to build procurement structure, spend visibility, and cost discipline in multi-region organizations to support margin and EBITDA improvement.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management in a construction, industrial, or project-based operating environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
  • Experience supporting large, multi-region organizations with decentralized operations.
  • Ability to analyze spend data and translate insights into actionable procurement strategies.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, service, and risk.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Operations, Finance, Safety, and Executive Leadership.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
