Job description

Ocean Paving & Sealing is seeking an experienced and dependable Asphalt Raker & Sealcoat Applicator to join our growing team! This position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality asphalt paving and pavement maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in asphalt placement, raking, grading, and sealcoating operations and be capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Rake and lute asphalt to proper grade and thickness.

• Assist paving crews with asphalt placement and finishing.

• Perform sealcoating preparation and application.

• Edge, brush, and clean pavement surfaces before and after application.

• Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely.

• Assist with traffic control, site setup, and cleanup.

• Follow project specifications and foreman instructions.

• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all company safety policies.

• Perform other paving and pavement maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Minimum of 5 years of asphalt paving and/or sealcoating experience.

• Strong knowledge of proper asphalt placement, grading, and finishing techniques.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Must be able to pass a background check.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ pounds.

• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a crew.

Preferred

• Experience operating rollers, skid steers, or other paving equipment.

• Traffic control certification.

• Experience working on commercial and residential paving projects.

Schedule

• Hours will vary based on project schedules, weather conditions, and seasonal

workload.

• Early morning, daytime, evening, weekend, and occasional overtime work may be

required.

This position is seasonal/as-needed and will last approximately 3 months.
