Job description

Instructor (Level 2) - Part Time


Description:

The ideal candidate has a strong background in tennis but could potentially help round out schedules by contributing to other activity that we also offer. This candidate enjoys helping and interacting with both adults and kids of all ages in activities we offer which include tennis, pickleball, badminton, table-tennis, basketball & chess. A willingness to contribute and operate within a team-based environment is essential to this role. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to teach and demonstrate technique to both beginning and advanced level players. Must have an engaging personality and enjoy interacting with others. Previous coaching experience is required.

Skills, Qualities and Experience:

  • A passion for tennis in addition to one or more of the other activities we offer
  • Desire for helping others learn
  • Positive coaching style and a fun and welcoming attitude that kids and adults respond to
  • The ability to lead and communicate effectively to groups of children and adults
  • Solid playing ability (4.0+ NTRP)
  • Fast paced and accurate ball feeding skills
  • The ability to work with a wide variety of skill levels with the focus on beginning to intermediate
  • Patience when dealing with students that are new to the sport
  • A good understanding of classic and modern tennis fundamentals
  • A wide range of games and drills to get students moving and having fun
  • A strong work-ethic that includes being punctual and professional at all times

NOTE: This position is required by law to submit to a consumer investigative report. Applicants are also subject to a health screening, following a conditional offer of employment.


Schedule:

This is a part-time position aimed at approximately 10 - 15 hours per week of on-court time. Weekday morning, after school/evening and weekend availability are preferred to be considered a strong applicant for the role.

**Schedule and number of hours assigned are subject to change according to the needs of the business and can vary seasonally or session by session.
