Position Summary/Objective
This is a full-time, entry-level position responsible for the management and efficient operation of the sample department in a fast-paced interior design showroom. The Memo Librarian's primary responsibility is ensuring customers receive their sample requests promptly and that the Memo Room inventory is organized and accurately maintained. The role supports the overall sales process and assists the Showroom Merchandiser with various duties as required.
  • Fill customer sample requests and assist in pulling memo samples for showroom visits.
  • Maintain accurate sample room inventory, keep levels current, and reorder missing samples as needed.
  • Process incoming and outgoing memos, including organizing outgoing shipments to customers.
  • Manage memo returns by folding samples and filing them back in shelves.
  • Handle restocking duties, including organizing and filing new product memos (folding and boxing) and restocking replenishment samples from the warehouse.
  • Remove discontinued products from shelves and condense bins/shelves as needed.
  • Greet customers at the memo desk and interact with designers both in person and over the phone and in email.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30-pound boxes when required.
  • Organize the book library and ensure it is kept current.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall showroom goals.
  • Fully equipped to operate our electronic memo shop scanners, ensuring the pick rate meets company expectations.

  • Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Proficiency with computer systems such as Google, Excel, and Word for managing inventory and records.
    • Education and/or internship experience in the Interior Design field is a plus.

    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Outgoing personality and excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with designers.

  • Pay Range: $18.00 -$21.00 per hour
