Web Application Developer

Location: Remote, within the United States

Annual salary range: $80,000 - $140,000

Relevant experience: 3 years preferred; entry-level acceptable

U.S. citizenship required

Actionable Outcomes (AO) is seeking a Web Application Developer to support our operations within government-owned systems, in furtherance of our mission to fight fraud against the federal government and generally aid proper payment decisions. The relevant application platform is owned by the United States Treasury, with webapps & backend processes developed by us, under contract. We require an experienced and reliable individual who can quickly familiarize themselves with this environment and assume duties related to monitoring it, improving its existing applications, and supporting the development of additional production-ready applications in the future.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in the Java programming language.
  • Ability to deploy Java programs (EAR, WAR, & JAR files) to an application server such as IBM WebSphere or Apache Tomcat.
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Security.
  • Experience writing JUnit and Spring integration tests.
  • Fluency in front-end web development applications such as React and Angular, and in using them to develop full-feature applications which include interactivity, modals, and image displays.
  • Fluency in developing web apps that make use of identity provider parameters such as SAML asserts & OIDC claims to scope user access & limit functionality.
  • Knowledge of development operations that involve git and GitLab.
  • Familiarity with the WebFOCUS application platform.
  • Experience working within highly secure systems, such as government systems with FedRAMP-high ratings, or corporate systems with SOC-2
  • Familiarity with the REST API framework and building microservices that use it.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a self-sufficient developer within an environment that hosts WebFOCUS application & reporting servers with IBM WebSphere as its java application backend.
  • Take ownership of existing Java apps & related HTML-based webpages, and contribute to their expansion & modernization.
