About the Role
As a Structural Engineer (EIT), you will:
- Work under the guidance of experienced engineers to assist with structural load determination, perform calculations, and design various bridge and waterfront structures, including:
- Vehicle and pedestrian bridges
- Gangways and trestles
- Marine terminals
- Harbors and marinas
- Mooring and berthing structures
- Piers, wharves, bulkheads, and quays
- Breakwaters and shore protection structures
- Learn to develop construction drawings using AutoCAD with mentorship from senior staff.
- Participate in inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, and develop detailed technical reports with the support of your team.
- Collaborate across disciplines such as site-civil design, surveying, geotechnical engineering, and permitting to broaden your skill set and industry knowledge.
Qualifications
We welcome entry-level candidates who meet the following qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam or can do so within six months of hire.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, SAP) and AutoCAD is helpful but not required-we're ready to teach!
- A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
- Knowledge of basic structural principles and a desire to deepen your understanding of design codes/standards and materials.
- Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
- Motivation to grow professionally and tackle new challenges.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in fieldwork.
- A valid U.S. driver's license, a good driving record, and vehicle insurance.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
