Job description

DIRECT HIRE: A great opportunity for an experienced Rodbuster to join a team in the Abilene, TX. area. 
📍 Working Location: Abilene, TX. 
💰 Pay Range: $22hr (also $125 a day Per Diem)
🕒 Base hours/Schedule: M - F, 8am - 5pm, +OT (50+ hours per week)

Responsibilities: 
  • Positioning & Securing: Placing and tying together steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh within concrete forms using pliers, wire, and specialized fasteners
  • Cutting & Bending: Using tools like shears, hacksaws, and acetylene torches to shape rebar according to specifications
  • Blueprints Interpretation: Reading blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to determine the layout, size, and quantity of rebar needed
  • Setting Support: Installing chairs or blocks to hold the rebar at the correct height before concrete is poured
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and working safely at heights or in trenches
Requirements & Physical Demands:
  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs. and handle, move, or walk over heavy steel materials frequently
  • Endurance: Ability to work in challenging environments, including high heat, cold, rain, or snow, and often at heights
  • Technical Skill: Experience with hand tools, power tools, and rod-bending machines
  • Experience: Often requires 2–3 years of experience in construction or ironworking, though entry-level roles exist
