Job description

Position Summary
The Test Engineer will enhance the profitability of the company as part of an Engineering team supporting all technical aspects of our customers' products and our production demands. The Test Engineer will create value by creating hardware fixtures, machines, software and automation, in careful cooperation with Operations leaders, which drives reduction of labor, efficiency in production and increased confidence in quality. Once established, these solutions are to be maintained, refreshed and further refined as our customers and their requirements continue to grow and change.
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Analyzes customer products and product failure modes and mechanisms and participates in the development of methods for effective failure detection and repair.
  • Create hardware fixtures to improve the reliability, efficiency and\or quality of production processes.
    Understands processes, process flow theory, and IE models.
  • With direction from Operations and Engineering leaders, help with design, build and testing of novel automated solution.
  • Create software applications to help drive an increase in productivity, reliability and quality of production processes.
  • Designs and/or conducts experiments, with some guidance if needed. Documents the results in a complete written report that includes the purpose, setup, and data in a clear, organized fashion.
  • Works under the guidance and direction of more senior team members.
  • Works closely with line operators and Technicians in implementing process improvements.
  • Understands the repair levels (1-5) and how each impacts process design decisions.

Education/ Work Experience
  • Possess a BS or MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • If currently a Reconext employee, should have a Technical Diploma and has consistently demonstrated, for at least one year, capability, understanding, and performance equivalent to an Engineer with a BS degree.
  • Entry level - any previous work experience is a plus.

Minimal Competency
  • Some command of statistical data analysis
    • Prefer knowledge of MiniTab or Tableau
  • Computer / Device communications protocols
    • IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, I2C, RS232
  • Familiar with SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or another 3d CAD application
  • Some experience in building software applications in one of these languages
    • C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Python
  • Experience with 3d printing and the workflow for producing 3d printed parts.
