Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Associate Engineer, Corrosion Control with corrosion control program management experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!
Role Summary:
The Associate Engineer, Corrosion Control is an entry-level Engineer role with responsibilities to support the various programs that comprise Buckeye's Corrosion Control program.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
  • Corrosion Control Program Support. Supporting the implementation of Buckeye's Corrosion Control Programs, including, but not limited to,
    • Tracking of corrosion inspection and repair activities;
    • Acquiring and preparing data in electronic and/or printed format consistent with departmental standards;
    • Providing periodic reports and data for Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Data Integration & Management. Receiving and reviewing Corrosion Control data and integrating into various Corrosion Control databases.
  • Stakeholder Engagement. Conducting monthly district conference calls with written agendas and meeting minutes/notes.
  • Project/Program Management. Supporting field execution of Corrosion Control special projects.
  • Department Support. Providing support for Asset Integrity Team members.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Experience: Typically, 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Special skills: Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Special skills: Proficiency with SQL, ESRI GIS, PowerBI, FME, Python, R, or other programming languages to perform data analysis is helpful.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes relating to corrosion control management is helpful.
  • Travel Requirements: 10% travel possible.

Certificates & Licenses:
  • Engineer-in-Training certification is desirable.
  • NACE CP-1 certification, or equivalent experience, is helpful.

Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, as well as strong organizational skills are paramount.
  • In order to be successful in this position, one must have excellent analytical skills to resolve business and operations problems and have good communication skills to consult with users to provide technical assistance.
  • The individual must be well organized with the ability to keep accurate records and provide status updates.

Essential Functions:
  • This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.
  • This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.

Physical & Safety Requirements:
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.
  • This role continuously operates a computer and other office equipment.
  • May require walking the pipeline right-of-way.
  • Training in Hazardous Materials Handling and Confined Space Entry helpful.
