Job description

What We Offer
The Child Life Specialist Fellow serves as an entry level Child Life Specialist for a 12-month time period while receiving enhanced educational and supervision opportunities. The Child Life Fellow provides support to previously established areas of child life coverage and expands upon hours and quality of services on these established units. In this role they assess the emotional, developmental, psychosocial, and coping needs of children and their families in healthcare settings and provide education, support and therapeutic interventions in response to medical experiences. The Child Life fellow plans and implement programs and services to meet the needs identified for the child life department, which may include supporting children affected by the healthcare experience of an adult. The Child Life Specialist Fellow provides and advocates for high quality family centered care administered in a developmentally appropriate and emotionally safe environment, participates in the education of the multidisciplinary team on child life strategies for providing optimal care for pediatric patients and their families.
What We're Looking For
Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Child Life or related field. Graduate Degree, preferred.
Experience: Completion of Child Life Internship, required.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Child Life Specialist by The Association of Child Life Professionals within 2 ACLP examination cycles, required.
