As a Painter with Novant Health, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and professional healthcare environment by repairing and restoring interior finishes throughout the hospital. This is a strong entry-level opportunity for someone looking to begin a long-term, rewarding career in the skilled trades within healthcare. You'll gain hands-on experience in a stable, year-round setting while working directly for a leading healthcare system - not as a subcontractor.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • No routine on-call or weekend schedule
  • Must be flexible to respond to the changing and sometimes urgent needs of a hospital environment
  • Work is performed in active patient care areas alongside patients, visitors, and clinical team members

What You'll Do
  • Paint walls, trim, and fixtures throughout healthcare facilities
  • Patch and repair drywall, plaster, and other wall surfaces
  • Install wall coverings, corner guards, and wall protection materials
  • Lay cove base and replace floor coverings as needed
  • Replace and install ceiling tiles
  • Estimate materials and labor for assigned projects
  • Safely use hand and power tools appropriate to the trade

What We're Looking For
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Four years of relevant work experience accepted in lieu of diploma

Experience
  • Minimum one year of hands-on experience in painting, patching, and installing wall coverings, ceiling tile, wall protection, rubber base, and floor coverings required
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Commercial or apartment maintenance experience preferred

Licensure/Certification
  • Valid driver's license required

Additional Skills
  • Skilled with hand and power tools used in painting and finish work
  • Ability to plan work, estimate materials, and manage basic job costs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to accurately distinguish colors
  • Professional and respectful while working in occupied healthcare spaces
