The Weld Specialist I is a hands-on role dedicated to creating industry-leading performance parts through high-quality craftsmanship. This entry-level position focuses on mastering MIG welding techniques while participating in a structured TIG development plan to facilitate long-term career advancement within AWE's fabrication team.


Welding & Fabrication Excellence:

  • Perform basic MIG welding on thin-gauge 304 stainless steel tubing, brackets, and various assemblies.
  • Execute the shaping, fitting, and welding of raw materials in strict accordance with manufacturing jigs.
  • Ensure all welds meet structural integrity standards and exact visual criteria to maintain premium brand perception.
  • Maintain high-volume production output aligned with established production standard rates.
  • Assist in the maintenance and security of all manufacturing jigs to ensure ongoing production accuracy.

Operational Support & Machine Maintenance:

  • Support product flow by operating equipment such as bandsaws, tube cutters, deburring tools, resizing dies, and metal benders as required.
  • Execute all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner, balancing speed with high quality standards.
  • Conduct Daily Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) reviews for all assigned equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Provide proactive input and creative ideas for continuous improvements in shop processes, equipment, or tooling.

Professionalism & Team Contribution

  • Participate in the TIG Development Plan to expand technical skill sets and fabrication capabilities.
  • Maintain a tidy, on-brand, and professional work environment at all times.
  • Represent AWE Tuning professionally both within the facility and during external events as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and time-tracking requirements, including clocking in/out for shifts and lunch breaks.



Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school or professional welding certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in MIG welding, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 1 - 3 years of general metal fabrication experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in MIG welding, specifically with stainless steel.
  • Proficiency in measuring, cutting, deburring, and staging raw materials.
  • Basic knowledge of metal fabrication machinery (saw, cutter, bender, CNC).
  • Ability to interpret and follow manufacturing instructions and utilize complex jigs.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.
