Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level AWS Network DevOps Engineer to design, scale, and automate our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage DevOps methodologies to manage global AWS network topologies, secure data transits, and optimize connectivity. You will work alongside cloud architects and software teams to treat infrastructure as code, ensuring our AWS environment is resilient, automated, and secure.
Location: This position is hybrid in the Dallas, TX area but we will also consider candidates that can work hybrid in the San Francisco, CA and Portland, ME areas.
Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
  • Automate AWS Networking: Write infrastructure as code (IaC) to provision and modify cloud network constructs like VPCs, subnets, route tables, and gateways.
  • Manage Connectivity: Assist in configuring and troubleshooting hybrid cloud networks, including AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, and AWS Transit Gateway infrastructure.
  • Build Cloud CI/CD: Help build and maintain automated deployment pipelines for network configurations using AWS-native tools and third-party orchestration suites.
  • Monitor Performance: Implement cloud-native monitoring and logging to track network health, data transfer costs, and traffic patterns.
  • Security Compliance: Enforce network security perimeters by configuring network access control lists (NACLs), security groups, and AWS WAF rules.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain clear documentation, architectural diagrams, and runbooks detailing cloud network topologies and automated scripts.

Qualifications:
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, or software development
  • AWS Core Networking: Foundational knowledge of VPCs, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing (ALB/NLB), Security Groups, and Internet Gateways.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on exposure to provisioning resources programmatically using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Scripting: Basic proficiency in Python (specifically utilizing the Boto3 SDK) or Bash for task automation.
  • CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with code deployment pipelines such as AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
  • Networking Basics: Solid grasp of traditional concepts like DNS, TCP/IP, IPAM, CIDR blocks, and basic routing.

Preferred Qualifications

Benefits:
Salary Range for California Residents Only: $115,763.00 to $131,500.00
Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $78,220.00 to $101,700.00
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays throughout the year 2026, sick pay accrual according to state law, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
