Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled, technically advanced IT professional with exceptional programming, networking, computer, and IP surveillance system experience. This is not an entry-level camera installer position. The ideal candidate must be comfortable troubleshooting complex systems in the field, programming and configuring equipment, and solving problems independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, program, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced IP camera and video surveillance systems.
  • Configure IP cameras, NVRs, cloud-based video systems, PTZ cameras, multi-sensor cameras, and related equipment.
  • Program advanced camera functions including AI analytics, motion detection, intrusion zones, line crossing, object/person/vehicle detection, PTZ presets, auto-tracking, and event-triggered actions.
  • Configure multiple cameras to work together, including using fixed cameras or sensors to trigger PTZ positioning/tracking.
  • Perform advanced TCP/IP networking, including static IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, gateways, VLANs, subnetting, routing, port configuration, and PoE.
  • Configure and troubleshoot managed PoE/PoE+ switches, routers, firewalls, wireless bridges, and network-connected devices.
  • Diagnose communication problems using network and computer diagnostic tools.
  • Work with camera APIs, HTTP/HTTPS requests, ONVIF, RTSP streams, JSON, webhooks, and other system integrations when required.
  • Write, modify, and troubleshoot scripts or software used to integrate cameras, cloud platforms, access control, alarms, sensors, and other systems.
  • Work with Linux and Windows environments, command-line tools, remote administration, logs, services, and network diagnostics.
  • Diagnose complex hardware, software, firmware, network, and power-related failures.
  • Update firmware and safely configure production equipment without disrupting existing customer systems.
  • Perform on-site commissioning and verify that every camera, trigger, analytic, recording function, and remote connection operates correctly.
  • Document IP addresses, device credentials, network topology, programming, equipment configuration, and completed work.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly with customers and internal staff.

We need someone who can be handed a complicated technical problem and figure out why it isn’t working.

The successful candidate must possess excellent logical troubleshooting skills and be comfortable moving between physical equipment, networking, software, programming, and cloud systems.
