The Field Technical Services (FTS) Technician is an entry-level to early-career technical role that provides hands-on support for Lifetouch studios and offices, including JCPenney Studios. This position focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting studio equipment, camera systems, and facility-related technologies to ensure smooth operations and a high-quality customer experience. 
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with a technical background who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and supporting systems across multiple locations.  
What You’ll Do 
  • Install and maintain studio and school equipment, including lighting systems, power distribution units, and camera-related hardware. 

  • Troubleshoot technical issues involving cabling, electrical components, mechanical systems, and studio equipment. 

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to resolve issues efficiently. 

  • Assist with preventive maintenance and safety inspections. 

  • Support facility technologies such as environmental controls and low-voltage systems. 

  • Help implement equipment upgrades and new technology deployments. 

  • Document service work, system configurations, and procedures. 

  • Follow safety regulations, building codes, and company standards. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support field operations. 

What You Bring 
Required 
  • Technical or vocational education in electronics, mechanical systems, facilities, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in technical support, field service, or facilities maintenance. 

  • Basic mechanical and electronics troubleshooting skills. 

  • Ability to read technical documentation and wiring diagrams. 

  • Comfortable using tools and diagnostic equipment. 

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 

  • Awareness of workplace safety standards (OSHA, NEC). 

Nice to Have 
  • Experience in studio, retail, production, or field service environments. 

  • Familiarity with service ticketing systems such as SAP or ServiceNow. 

  • Exposure to camera, imaging, or AV equipment. 

  • Experience supporting multiple sites or traveling for work. 

  • Knowledge of building systems (BMS, HVAC controls, low-voltage systems).

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.
