Davenport Works is the country's largest aluminum rolling mill, it was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide.  It is in Riverdale in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois).  The Quad Cities is 3 hours south-west of Chicago, 4 hours north of St. Louis, and less than 3 hours from Des Moines.  The Quad Cities is home to St. Ambrose University among 8 educational institutes.  Major outdoor summer music festivals include the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival, Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, and River Roots Live.

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Strong interest in IT systems, software development, and manufacturing technology.

  • Experience with programming languages such as VB.Net, ASP, C#, Java, Python, or C.

  • Willingness to learn software development practices, programming languages and database technologies as needed

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving mindset.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Learn to support, maintain and improve IT environments critical to manufacturing operations.

  • Assist in integrating manufacturing applications with other business systems.

  • Collaborate with development and support teams to troubleshoot and enhance applications.

  • Gain exposure to business processes in manufacturing and how IT supports them.

  • Participate in project activities, including requirements, software development, planning, documentation, and testing.

  • Help ensure systems meet security and compliance requirements

  • Contribute to innovation and process improvement initiatives.

  • Pursue continuous learning, consistent with evolving job requirements and technology / organizational changes

Key Objectives

  • Work with business stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for automation, Business Intelligence (BI), and solution design and reporting

  • Work with business and IT teams to design end-to-end solutions that improve collaboration, productivity, and knowledge sharing 

  • Partner with Infrastructure teams to define and develop strategies to deliver desired results

  • Work with project lead on mid-size work requests and projects

  • Regularly communicate project status to project steering team and stakeholders

  • Address issues promptly and escalates appropriately 

  • Support Arconic Compliance activities by performing annual system testing for adherence to IT System and SOX Audit requirements, assists SOX audit teams and internal audit teams as required, and performs Disaster Recovery testing as required.
