Job Summary:

Nova Biomedical is seeking a Prep Operator I to support strip manufacturing operations in Billerica, MA. This role is responsible for learning and operating process equipment used to produce medical biosensors, requiring strong attention to detail, dependability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

The Prep Operator I will work in a clean room environment and will be cross-trained by a Qualified Trainer to operate various production stations, including cut and die punch gold/palladium, laser, OGP, ICT, lamination stations, and steel rolling.

This position starts off as a 40 hour a temporary position. Conversion is based on meeting the minimum requirements of product production, overall performance and attendance. If you meet those requirements, you will be considered for a fulltime permanent position that is benefits eligible. If you meet all the performance requirements, you will be converted within 90 days.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain superior quality while producing high volumes of test strips.
  • Complete various equipment logs, travelers, identifiers, and appendices in accordance with GMP requirements.
  • Work in a clean room environment while wearing required PPE, including a lab coat, bouffant, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions from the Supervisor, Group Leader, or Team Leader.
  • Cut and punch sheets and inspect sheets according to specifications.
  • Etch sheets using a laser machine.
  • Perform continuity testing on etched sheets according to specifications.
  • Laminate layers using tweezers as needed and inspect according to specifications.
  • Steel roll laminated sheets according to specifications.
  • Accurately document all processes in accordance with ISO and GMP requirements.

Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English required.
  • Good penmanship required for completing logs, travelers, identifiers, appendices, and other documents in accordance with ISO and GMP requirements.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work dependably and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to be cross-trained on multiple production stations and process equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Able to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry up to [2550] pounds as required.
  • Comfort with performing repetitive physical tasks.
  • Able to bend, reach, stoop, or climb as needed.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., noise, temperature, equipment).
  • Proficiency in operating tools, machinery, or technical equipment.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
