Job description

Business Development Representative (Commercial Mechanical Sales)
Location: [Des Moines, IA / Wichita, KS]
Company: Marick Mechanical
Reports to: VP of Sales
The Mission
At Marick Mechanical, we don't just provide HVAC and refrigeration services; we provide technical certainty. We are looking for a Hunter-a sales professional who isn't satisfied with waiting for the phone to ring. You will be the face of the orange, white, and gray logo in your region, responsible for identifying high-impact opportunities and building relationships with building owners who value precision over empty promises.
The Marick Standard
We run our sales team with a "Chef's Mindset." In a high-end kitchen, precision is the baseline for survival. We apply that same discipline to the mechanical room. We hunt for the detail's others miss, ensuring our "prep work" (site surveys and discovery) leads to a flawless execution for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Aggressive Prospecting: Actively hunt for new commercial and industrial business. You are responsible for cold outreach, networking, and territory management to build a robust pipeline from scratch.
  • Technical Discovery: Conduct detailed, "no-stone-unturned" site surveys. We believe the prep work is everything; you will be trained to identify root causes, not just symptoms.
  • Consultative Selling: Follow the Marick Sales Process, utilizing NeuroSelling techniques to build trust, lower client anxiety, and provide clear, logical paths to resolution.
  • Territory Ownership: Act as the local authority for Marick Mechanical. You manage your schedule, your targets, and your strategic growth plan.
  • Brand Excellence: Ensure every interaction reinforces the Marick logo as the premier mark of professionalism in the Midwest.

The "Hunter" Profile
  • Precision Mindset: You understand that "close enough" is a failure. You have high attention to detail in documentation and communication.
  • Self-Starter: You are motivated by high-stakes wins and the challenge of turning a cold lead into a long-term partnership.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; able to translate complex mechanical issues into clear value propositions for building owners.

Compensation & Rewards
We are looking for the best, and we compensate accordingly. Our "Hunter" structure is designed to reward technical accuracy and aggressive growth.
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $180,000 - $200,000+ (First Year)
  • Base Salary: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Uncapped Commission Structure:
    • 15% Commission on Gross Margin (GM) for all Preventive Maintenance (PM) agreements.
    • 10% Commission on Gross Margin (GM) for Service work and Projects.
  • Additional Perks: Vehicle allowance, fuel card, company card for expenses, 401(k) with match, comprehensive health/dental/vision, and full tech suite (Laptop/Phone/CRM).

Requirements
  • Proven track record in B2B sales (Mechanical/Industrial experience preferred but we will train the right "Hunter").
  • Ability to conduct physical site walks (mechanical rooms, rooftops, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and CRM discipline.
  • Valid driver's license.

About Marick Mechanical: Midwest-based since 1974, Marick Mechanical is a leader in commercial HVAC and refrigeration. We are building a detailed, passionate sales culture where excellence is the only standard. If you are ready to own your territory and represent the best logo in the area, we want to hear from you.
