Job Description The Michigan State Lottery is looking for a dependable, honest, motivated, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude and strong ethical standards to join our team. The Michigan State Lottery was established under the authority of Public Act 239 of 1972 to generate funds to support Michigan's public-school system and generates revenue through the sale of Lottery tickets at retail locations and over the internet. Profits from lottery revenue are used to supplement state education programs.

This position serves as an Inspector in the Charitable Gaming Division of the Bureau of State Lottery. The position is responsible for regulating licensees conducting charitable gaming activities under the authority of the Michigan Bingo Act, including bingos, raffles, and charity game tickets. Conducts inspections of the operational and financial records of licensed organizations to ensure compliance with the Bingo Act, the administrative rules, and division directives.

The position also provides training and technical advice to licensees, introduces new games to licensees, and analyzes current licensee game programs for profitability. Prepares reports and other documentation in compliance with division procedures. The position also investigates complaints from citizens, and inspects licensed suppliers, equipment, and halls.

There are two vacancies associated with this posting; one in District 5 and one in District 6. Assigned areas may be subject to change based on operational needs. The geographical areas currently assigned include the following counties: District 5: Huron, Sanilac, St.

Required Education and Experience Education Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience Regulation Agent 9 No specific type or amount is required. Regulation Agent 10 One year of professional experience providing regulation and investigative services equivalent to a Regulation Agent 9. Regulation Agent P11 Two years of professional experience providing regulation and investigative services equivalent to a Regulation Agent, including one year equivalent to a Regulation Agent 10.

Alternate Education and Experience Regulation Agent 9 - 12 Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement. OR Two years of experience as an investigator or detective in a law enforcement, US Armed Services, or private agency conducting criminal investigations or corporate investigations including fraud, embezzlement, and security threats may be substituted for the education and experience required at the entry level; three years of such experience may be substituted at the intermediate level; four years of such experience may be substituted at the experienced level, and five years of such experience may be substituted at the advanced level. Civil Service Rule 2-7 requires that all persons who are not currently state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test. This urine sample test must be administered within 24 hours, or your offer may be rescinded. An applicant must remain at the testing site until the testing process is completed and permitted up to 3 hours to provide a sufficient specimen.

It is considered a refusal to test if an applicant fails to provide a sufficient amount of urine for a drug test within the allowed time. Positions within the Bureau of State Lottery will require a criminal history background check.
