What role you will play in our team
 

You will be assigned to the Sarnia Quality Assurance Laboratory. The laboratory operates 24 hours
per day/ 7 days per week with rotating shifts. Depending upon the area, you may be responsible to qualify and release manufactured products, support product development through testing analysis, support the refinery operations across Canada, or provide technical guidance to the Imperial Oil marketing organizations and industrial customer base.

What you will do
 

  • Conduct laboratory testing in accordance with Imperial and Exxon quality standards
  • Participate in field testing and tank and vessel sampling
  • Manage specific areas of own work/projects
  • Work to complete required Laboratory progression
  • Provide computer analysis and interpretation of data in support of operations
  • Document /communicate results 

 
About you
 

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Studying in Chemical or Environmental Technologist program or Equivalent
  • Equivalent (i.e. bachelor degree in relevant science/engineering field), and/or having a diploma in a chemical/environmental field which includes a practical laboratory component. 
     

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Relevant manufacturing laboratory experience.   Preference will be given to applicants with direct industry laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with statistical control practices
  • Strong commitment to safety on and off the job
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Sound reasoning ability with a high level of self-initiative and a desire to learn
  • Knowledge and skills with computer applications -- MS Office
  • Valid driver license
  • Work schedule: Full-time position

Start Date: September 8, 2026

Work Term: 4 or 8 months
