Job description

Job Title: Team Lead - 2nd and 3rd shifts

Job Description

As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of 10-20 associates, including setups, production associates, and contingent workforce. You will manage 13-27+ machines and report to a shift supervisor, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the team and address any issues, taking immediate action where necessary.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and enforce the wearing of PPE.
  • Prioritize work and determine the order in which parts are processed.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments such as maintenance, production, engineering, and quality.
  • Document daily reports using Excel and oversee communication between shifts.
  • Conduct shift handoff meetings and train new employees as needed.
  • Monitor and ensure the team meets productivity targets.
  • Utilize production tracking software and Microsoft Office for reporting and communication.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements.
  • Be hands-on by filling in on the line, moving parts, and operating machinery when necessary.
  • Address employee issues and ensure adherence to the FIFO (first in, first out) process.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in team leading, supervising, or coaching.
  • Experience in making adjustments and improving processes.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to work on the production line.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and email usage.
  • Ability to address and resolve issues promptly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in molding/stamping.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.

Work Environment

Work in a typical manufacturing environment with shifts available on the 2nd (2:20pm-11:10pm) and 3rd (10:20pm-7:10am) shifts, totaling approximately 42.5 hours a week. The plant is loud and has an odor of rubber due to older machinery, but it is well-lit. The team produces various automotive parts including fuel hoses and suspension components. Training will initially be conducted during the day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.38 - $26.38/hr.
