Job description

General Summary: Provide Manufacturing engineering support and process improvement.   RELOCATION FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS POSITION.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands on troubleshooting of equipment issues.
  • Work with team members to solve customer issues related to quality and design; solve issues related to the process and equipment and implement changes to production lines.
  • Work with Design Engineering to implement changes due to product changes.
  • Review and make recommendations to improve product design and processes, using various analytical methods and tools (Design for Assembly, Manufacturing and Experiments).
  • Work with the core team (Design, Quality, Supplier Quality and Packaging Engineering) on new product development and implementation.
  • Based on production guidelines, approve design changes and verify these changes do not affect the process.
  • Create and maintain documents and/or databases.  Such activities vary from clerical, to editorial, to creative; e.g. creation/revision of APQP documentation, MI, PI, SOP, etc.
  • May provide work to clerical support or unskilled labor including temporarily assigned operators.
  • May assist in audit responsibilities within a plant.
  • Applies principles and best practices with some independent discretion
  • Support engineering projects and assist experienced engineers with engineering analysis 

Ability:

Basic computer systems and hand tools.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills, CAD/Inventor software knowledge.  Broad knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Engineering.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Experience:

0 - 2 years of experience (internship/co-op included) - Entry-level position

Physical Requirements:

Must have hand dexterity at moderate speed with accuracy for half of each day. Requires steady, active effort and continuous walking. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work in all areas of the plant.
