Sun Powersports Colorado Springs is looking for an experienced A/B Level Powersports Technician to join our service department.
We are a busy multi-line powersports dealership representing some of the best brands in the industry, including Ducati, BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Can-Am, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, and more. Our shop handles everything from routine maintenance and diagnostics to performance work, pre-owned inspections, accessory installs, and full unit prep.
We are looking for a technician who takes pride in clean work, understands the importance of efficiency, and wants to be part of a professional dealership environment with room to grow.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will be an experienced technician with strong diagnostic ability, good mechanical knowledge, and the discipline to complete work correctly the first time. This role is best suited for someone who can work independently, communicate clearly with the service team, and maintain high standards across a wide variety of motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, personal watercraft, and snowmobiles.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with real shop experience who can step in and contribute quickly.
Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections on motorcycles and powersports vehicles
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
- Completing manufacturer warranty work and recalls
- Performing pre-delivery inspections on new units
- Inspecting and repairing pre-owned inventory
- Installing accessories, performance parts, and upgrades
- Accurately documenting work performed on repair orders
- Communicating with service advisors and management regarding job status, parts needs, and diagnostic findings
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work area
- Following manufacturer procedures, safety standards, and dealership processes
- Supporting the service department during busy seasons
Requirements
Qualified candidates should have:
- Previous experience as a motorcycle, powersports, automotive, or small engine technician
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
- Ability to work efficiently in a flat-rate or productivity-focused shop environment
- Own tools appropriate for the role
- Valid driver’s license
- Motorcycle endorsement preferred
- Clean driving record preferred
- Ability to test ride motorcycles when needed
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional attitude and good communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple brands and vehicle types
- Factory certifications are a plus, especially Ducati, BMW Motorrad, Triumph, Can-Am, Sea-Doo, or Ski-Doo
