Entry Level Crater Packer Jobs (NOW HIRING)

The Entry-Level Crater assists with preparing, packing, and securing products for shipment. This role works under the direction of the Lead Crater and Master Crater while learning company crating standards, safe tool use, and warehouse procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with packing, wrapping, padding, blocking, bracing, and securing products for shipment.
• Help build standard crates, pallets, skids, and other protective packaging.
• Gather lumber, fasteners, packing materials, tools, and supplies needed for daily work.
• Measure and cut materials under the direction of the Lead Crater or Master Crater.
• Apply shipping labels and assist with verifying part numbers, quantities, and shipment paperwork.
• Keep the crating and warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Safely use approved hand tools and equipment after training.
• Assist with loading, unloading, receiving, inventory, and material movement as assigned.
• Report damaged products, unsafe conditions, supply shortages, or quality concerns to the Lead Crater or Master Crater.
• Follow all company safety policies, attendance expectations, and work procedures.
• Complete other warehouse and crating duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• No prior crating experience required; warehouse, packaging, carpentry, or shipping experience is a plus.
• Willingness to learn safe use of hand tools, power tools, and warehouse equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic ability to read a tape measure or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
• Forklift certification is not required but may be obtained after hire based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and, with assistance or equipment, heavier items as needed.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and dust.

Reporting Relationship

The Entry-Level Crater reports to the Lead Crater and works under the guidance of the Master Crater, Warehouse Manager, or assigned Operations Manager.
