Job Summary/Description:  

Live 5 News is looking for a Broadcast News Producer/Digital Content Producer. We are looking for a journalist who is passionate about sharing content on air and online. As a broadcast producer, our next coworker will help produce our Emmy-winning morning newscast for part of their work week. They will write & booth a morning newscast. We need someone who is a great writer and has solid news judgment. For at least 2 days of their work week, they will write content for Live5News.com as well as post content to social media.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Producing weekday morning newscasts
• Write, edit & attach video to stories on Live5News.com on weekends
• Ability to fill in on other shifts as needed
• Writing original content for Live5News.com
• Managing station social media
• Enterprising content for the Live 5 Alert Desk

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must be a strong writer and copy editor with excellent editorial judgment, time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and re-prioritize quickly
• Must have basic working knowledge of web design and maintenance
• Experience with writing in AP style is preferred
• Ability to quickly learn software applications used in the newsroom
• Knowledge of entry-level video editing software a plus
