Job Overview:

We are looking for an Advisory Manager that will be responsible for leading a team of financial planning associates to deliver high-quality support to our advisors. This role balances direct client service with team management, including performance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to firm compliance and planning standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of Planning Associates to ensure efficient distribution of financial planning deliverables to advisors
  • Monitor the quality and accuracy of planning work; enforce best practices, templates, and review protocols established by the Planning Associate Team Lead
  • Provide hands-on mentorship, coaching, and ongoing feedback to Planning Associates
  • Address day-to-day personnel needs, including scheduling, workload balancing, and performance-related concerns with the support of the Planning Associate Team Leader
  • Assist in communicating departmental goals and expectations, guide team members in their execution
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to provide coaching, support professional growth, and ensure alignment of goals, responsibilities, and development opportunities
  • Monitor progress toward team and individual SMART goals, offering course correction and support as needed
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and contribute to ongoing evaluation of team members' development
  • Collaborate with HR and Planning Associate Team Leader to support career development and make recommendations for promotions within the planning team
  • Stay current on financial planning tools, technologies, and methodology to ensure planners are equipped with the resources they need
  • Support team culture, morale, and cross-office collaboration
  • Occasional travel may be required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CFP or CFA certification
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a wealth management-related or financial services field
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to take initiative, support others, and lead by example

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal skills and a willingness to make decisions using sound and accurate judgement
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
