Job description

Job Title: Intern/Aide
Division: Medicine
Work Arrangement:
Location: Houston, TX
Salary Range: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Summary
The Intern/Aide will assist in cancer genomics research by supporting data processing, analysis, and visualization of multi-omics datasets. Collaborates with research teams to perform statistical analyses and apply machine learning techniques to investigate complex biological questions related to cancer.
Responsibilities include generating high-quality figures and tables using R (ggplot2) to effectively communicate findings, as well as contributing to integrative analyses of genomic data. The role provides hands-on training in cancer genomics, statistical modeling, and computational biology.
Through this position, interns gain practical experience in:
  • Processing and analyzing cancer genomics and other omics datasets
  • Conducting integrative data analysis using R
  • Applying statistical modeling and machine learning approaches
  • Visualizing and presenting research results for scientific interpretation
