Position Overview

This is a full-time 4-month engagement (35 hours per week) with strong potential to transition into a permanent Staff Attorney position.

Openings are available in:

• Hackensack, NJ
• Paterson, NJ
• Jersey City, NJ

Responsibilities

Attorneys in this role will:

• Interview and advise clients
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal documents
• Conduct legal research
• Prepare cases for hearings and court appearances
• Advocate for clients in court
• Work closely with supervising attorneys and mentors

Ideal Candidate

We are especially interested in:

• Newly admitted New Jersey attorneys
• Recent law school graduates who have passed the NJ Bar
• Attorneys seeking courtroom and litigation experience
• Candidates passionate about public interest law and community advocacy
• Prior legal services or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Interest in consumer advocacy, litigation, or public interest law

Compensation & Growth Opportunity

This temporary engagement pays the equivalent of approximately $70,000–$79,000 annually depending on experience.

Attorneys transitioning into permanent Staff Attorney positions begin at approximately $79,000+ with comprehensive benefits and salary progression based on experience.
