Job description

At i3 Product Development, Electrical Engineers play a central role in bringing complex products to life. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers, UX designers, software engineers, and clients to develop thoughtful, reliable electronic systems that power real products used in the real world.
Our projects span medical, agriculture, industrial, consumer, health and wellness, and recreation industries. One day you may be architecting a connected device integrating BLE, Wi Fi, GPS, and a display. Another day may focus on low-power design, rigid flex PCB layout, or system-level integration for a new embedded platform. With more than 100 projects each year, the work is varied, hands-on, and fast-paced.
About The Role
This role supports a range of experience levels. Earlier-career engineers will have opportunities to build strong fundamentals in embedded systems, circuit design, and system integration. More experienced engineers will lead electrical architecture decisions, influence technical direction, mentor teammates, and partner directly with clients. In all cases, you will be involved from early concepts through product launch.
We support our team with strong benefits, including a zero-deductible health plan, meaningful retirement match, and employee ownership, so you can focus on doing great work and growing your career.
What You Will Do
  • Design electrical system architectures for embedded and connected products
  • Develop circuit designs and perform schematic capture
  • Create and review PCB layouts using modern ECAD tools
  • Support electromechanical integration with cross functional teams
  • Plan and execute electrical design verification testing
  • Participate in system integration and product validation
  • Work with software engineers on firmware and communication interfaces
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to balance performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability
  • Collaborate directly with clients and manufacturing partners as needed
  • Mentor or support other engineers based on experience and interest
  • Continuously build your skills through varied project work and shared learning

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Professional experience in electrical design and embedded systems development
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools, Altium Designer preferred
  • Understanding of circuit design fundamentals and PCB layout best practices
  • Experience with communication protocols such as BLE, Wi Fi, CAN, RS 485, SPI, I2C, or similar
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical decisions thoughtfully

Nice to Have
  • Five or more years of experience in product development
  • Low power design experience
  • Rigid flex PCB experience
  • Client-facing or consulting experience
  • Interest in technical leadership and mentorship (Senior Roles)

Why i3
At i3, Electrical Engineers do not work in isolation. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, see your work move quickly from concept to production, and help shape products that make a real impact. We value curiosity, accountability, and engineers who care about both technical excellence and team success.
Benefits and Perks
  • Health insurance with a zero-dollar deductible and employee premiums as low as seven dollars per pay period
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with a dollar-for-dollar match up to six percent
  • Employee Stock Purchase Program
  • Company paid short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Company paid life insurance at two times your annual salary
  • Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts
  • Paid time off plus nine paid holidays
  • Emergency Assistance Fund
  • Charitable Match Program

This role supports a range of experience levels. Compensation is aligned to experience, demonstrated impact, and level of responsibility, including technical leadership and client partnership where applicable.
We appreciate your interest in i3 Product Development. Our team will review applications carefully and will reach out to candidates selected to move forward in the process on or after March 18, 2026.
