These mechanics will also help train and guide other mechanics as they develop their technical skills.This is not an apprentice-level position.Strong English is not required. Spanish-speaking applicants are welcome.ResponsibilitiesYou can bring your own tools or use company-provided tools. Personality, attitude, and dependability are just as important as experience.Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on quarry equipment and fleet vehiclesIndependently diagnose and repair complex diesel engine and heavy equipment issuesDiagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, and transmission systemsTroubleshoot mechanical issues in the shop and in the fieldComplete major equipment repairs safely and efficientlyDetermine the parts, tools, and materials needed to complete repairsTest equipment after repairs to ensure it is operating safely and correctlyMaintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and repair recordsTrain and provide hands-on guidance to less-experienced mechanicsHelp other mechanics improve their diagnostic and repair skillsFollow company safety procedures and report equipment safety concernsMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe conditionQualificationsRequired:Advanced professional experience repairing diesel engines and heavy equipmentStrong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and transmissionsAbility to independently diagnose and complete complex repairsAbility to take ownership of a repair from diagnosis through final testingExperience training, mentoring, or guiding less-experienced mechanicsAbility to safely use diagnostic equipment, mechanic tools, and shop equipmentAbility to perform physical work and lift heavy objectsAbility to work in a quarry environment and complete field repairs when neededDependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervisionAbility to pass dr*g screeningPreferred:Experience working with loaders, excavators, quarry equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or diesel trucksExperience working in a quarry, mining, construction, or similar environmentWelding or fabrication experienceFormal technical training or industry certification in diesel or heavy equipment repairScheduleThis is a full-time position working primarily daylight hours. Some Saturdays may be required depending on operational needs.
