Description
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Plant Manager
Employment Status: Full-Time. Hourly (Salary) Wage would be according to experience.
Primary Job Responsibilities: Responsible for performing highly diversified maintenance duties including:
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and adjusts.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on company assets including, roll stock packaging machines, rotary baggers, cookers, chill baths, peeling machines.
  • Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor/Manager.
  • Performs a variety of minor plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Maintains a safe, productive, and reliable workplace to meet our business needs while compiling with OSHA, IIAR, ANSI, COC and Food grade standards (GMP's).
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements
Qualification/Profile:
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good organizational, math and analytical skills for multiple project multi-tasking.
  • Excellent troubleshooting experience including electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, and PLC's.
  • Must be able to read and follow blueprints, drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, etc.
  • Must speak, read and write English.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, off-shift, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift and rotate while working with product weights up to 100 lbs.
  • Works well in a team environment including being able to work with a diverse group of people from all aspects of the building.
  • Works with a minimal amount of supervision and is a productive member of his/her department by adhering to all company policies.
  • Welding (stainless preferably), 240/480 electrical experience, AC/DC motors and pumps experience, replacing agitator seals, basic plumbing, programming/adjusting VFDs, working on control panels, some pneumatics/hydraulics experience, etc

Specific Experience/Training:
  • Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
