About The Role
The Model Home Designer II uses their education and artistic talent to create appealing interiors for model homes that reflect market trends and buyer preferences. This role collaborates with the Model Home Design Manager and requires discretion and independent judgment to effectively promote the Perry Homes brand.
What You'll Do
  • Focus on designing mid to larger square-footage model home interiors.
  • Implement, adapt, and replicate established design packages and successful model concepts while developing innovative, repeatable design packages for future use.
  • Develop new design packages that can be duplicated and used as a reference for future projects.
  • Independently designs mid to large-size model home interiors that align with Perry Homes brand standards, target buyer profiles, and established budgets
  • Collaborate and engage in all aspects of the design process, including drawings and presentations.
  • Select, purchase, and coordinate the inventory needed for budgeted model home designs with support from the Model Home Design Manager
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, budgets, records, and all required documentation.
  • Oversee the setting up of model homes to ensure the inventory is arranged according to the intended design.
  • Prepare preliminary and final budgets for model home designs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional departments to achieve project and departmental goals.
  • Occasionally handle urgent assignments with tight deadlines and short notice.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support team goals and department objectives.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • College degree in Interior Design or another design-related field required.
  • Requires at least 2 years of experience in a design-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to create a cohesive interior design concept and carry it from concept to installation, with a strong understanding of both foundational design elements and finishing touches such as furnishings, artwork and drapery.
  • Experience with space planning software (AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Bluebeam or similar). Experience in Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, schematics and elevations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with presenting design concepts, offering informed feedback, and participating in cross functional team meetings.
