Job description

Job Responsibilities:

· Installs, maintains, and repairs utility electrical systems up to 4160 volts including circuit breakers, motor starters, protection systems, motor control centers, lighting systems, conduit, and wiring.

· Installs and maintains safety systems including emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, uninterruptible power systems, battery systems, and utility communications systems.

· Installs, repairs, replaces, and calibrates control system equipment and support systems including transmitters, pneumatic valves and valve actuators, regulators, recorders, analyzers, and other sensors.

· Installs, analyzes, maintains, and repairs control equipment that includes Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and computers.

· Assists with troubleshooting and maintenance of utility control systems including boilers, material handling (conveyors), chillers, and water treatment systems.

Basic Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED.

· 2 years of experience working in an industrial plant environment

· Licensed Journeyman-level electrician or successful completion of state certified apprenticeship program in utility systems, industrial plant, process plant, or power plant with motor controls and station power systems operating at a minimum of 4160 volts.

· 2 years of experience in electronic and/or pneumatic control systems repair and calibration.


Additional Qualifications:

· Knowledge of utility systems and equipment

· Ability to work an 8 hour rotating shift

· Knowledge of tools and methods necessary to troubleshoot and maintain electrical and electronic equipment

· Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the electrical and instrumentation and control trades

· Knowledge of the principles of electronics

· Knowledge of and ability to interpret local, state, and national electrical codes

· Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with OSHA procedures

· Ability to read and understand blueprints, control system drawings and repair manuals

· Ability to perform basic math computations

· Ability to communicate effectively

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions

The hourly rate for this position is $44.44
