Job description

Ascension Global Staffing & Executive Search, a Hispanic Women Owned & Operated National Recruiting Firm stands at the forefront of innovation and excellence. Led by a visionary team with a deep commitment to diversity and inclusion, our firm is dedicated to identifying and attracting top talent across the nation. With a unique blend of cultural insight and professional expertise, we pride ourselves on creating an environment that fosters success for both employers and candidates.

Our client is a respected boutique litigation firm based in Coral Gables, Florida, known for delivering sophisticated, high-quality legal representation across complex commercial matters. They are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join their team in a fully remote capacity — a rare opportunity to do substantive, challenging work with a firm that values expertise, autonomy, and results.

This is a true end-to-end litigation role. The ideal candidate is a self-directed attorney who can own a matter from inception through resolution — with the judgment and presence to do it well.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial, arbitration, or settlement

• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, briefs, and dispositive filings in both state and federal court

• Conduct and defend depositions, manage discovery, and oversee e-discovery processes

• Develop and execute litigation strategy in collaboration with supervising partners and clients

• Appear in Florida state and federal courts as needed

• Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda, and provide substantive legal analysis

• Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegal staff as appropriate

• Maintain strong client relationships through clear, proactive communication and updates

• Manage deadlines, docketing, and compliance with court rules and local practices

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm — boutique, mid-size, or large firm background all considered

• Demonstrated experience managing litigation matters end-to-end with minimal supervision

• Substantive experience in both Florida state court and federal court proceedings

• Strong drafting skills — motions, briefs, and discovery in complex commercial matters

• Deposition and courtroom experience preferred

• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing required

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

PRACTICE AREAS — PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Business disputes, breach of contract, and commercial torts

• Partnership and shareholder disputes

• Real estate and construction litigation

• Professional liability

• Injunctive relief and emergency proceedings

DETAILS

• Work arrangement: Fully remote

• Client location: Coral Gables, Florida

• Employment type: Full-time

• Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience — open to discussion

• Bar admission: Florida Bar required; federal court admission a plus
